I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but now live in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the sun seems to shine at least a little most days, and mountain trails are a 10-minute drive. 

Writing is now my “full time” occupation, but I worked for many years as a children’s librarian. I also worked in public relations and technical editing. One of my best “jobs” was volunteering for four months in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, staffing the visitor’s center and hiking the trails.

I love to get outside - hiking, biking, backpacking, skiing, or just a walk in the rain. These are my hiking companions, Moki and Jake.
